100 Year Anniversary of the St Clare’s Chapel

On Sunday 5th March almost 100 ex-students gathered to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at St Clare’s College.

An 11am mass was followed by a guided tour of interesting and historical artifacts in the Convent, lead by Sr Louise Hume osc. A succulent lunch was served by a hardworking group Hospitality students under the expert supervision of Joanne and Courtney McNally. A 400 slide Powerpoint presentation visually told the story of the College and Sr Pauline Babicci osc, read an oral history via video. A display of uniforms stretching back to the 1940’s hung on mannequins with many students trying on their “old hats” for fun.

It was a joyous afternoon and was topped by the AGM of the Ex-Students’ Association who voted Joan Short as Present for the coming year. What a wonderful heritage St Clare’s College has and how fortunate we are to have such a strong and loyal Ex-Students’ Association!
