Franciscan Schools Australia Conference 2017

The Franciscan Schools Australia’s annual conference was held at the Novotel Sydney in Brighton Beach. Over 100 delegates attended from schools and parishes all over Australia and beyond.

During the three day conference inspirational and educational speakers spoke about the important role of St Francis in our schools and daily lives. A beautiful Mass was held nearby at St Thomas More Catholic Church where Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen ofm conv DD gave a moving homily. He then gave an intimate and personal talk at the dinner which resulted in a standing ovation from the grateful audience.

The conference was interspersed with sessions of “table talk” where each delegate was invited to express their views and ideas. The result of the carefully structured event was a return to the basics of Franciscan evangelism in our schools to enhance the lives and the world of our students and their families.
