Year 12 Graduation Assembly
The student body have officially farewelled our fabulous Year 12 girls at this morning’s College Assembly. It was a wonderful way for the rest of the College to say thank you to our Year 12 girls for the work they have done not only this year but throughout their six years at the College.
The assembly began with the traditional handing over of leadership from our Year 12 team to the incoming Year 11 leadership team. Our College Principal, Mrs McGahan reinforced messages she had repeated to the girls over their time at St Clare’s. She spoke of holding close the values of St Clare and St Francis, living out the Gospel values and making a difference in the world.
The speeches by our College Captain Kate Noack and the incoming College Captain Laila Rich left us in no doubt that the College will be left in great hands. Kate was at her magnificent best reflecting on the journey from Year 7 to 12 and looking ahead to life after St Clare’s. Her speech was inspirational and we will miss her words of wisdom. Laila spoke beautifully, acknowledging the wonderful work Kate and her leadership team had done and how she was inspired by Kate and all she had achieved this year. Laila, like Kate, embodies the values of Clare and Francis, she is an authentic leader who will do amazing things in her role as College Captain.
The remainder of the assembly was all about celebrating the journey of the Year 12 girls. It was filled with lots of fun and quite a few tears as the video presentations took us through their time at the College. Each of the girls was presented with a flower by each of the Year 7 girls as a parting gift from the student body. We have been so blessed to have these strong, resilient young women as part of our community.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you, May God hold you
Ever in the palm of His hand
