2019 College Opening Mass

The College Opening Mass signifies the official start of the academic year. On Wednesday 6th February, the College community gathered to celebrate the Eucharist and welcome all new members of the College into the St Clare’s community.

Fr Bernie once again led us in this wonderful occasion. His inspirational words and beautiful singing helped us all overcome the oppressive conditions. Our choir, led by Ms Galettis, was simply superb. The countless hours that go into creating such a performance often go unseen and we are very grateful to Ms Galettis and the students involved for helping make our celebration so special.

The tradition of presenting a copy of ‘Brother Sun, Sister Moon’ continued with Sr Louise presenting a copy to each of the new students and staff. This is a very symbolic way of exposing all new members of our community to the charism of St Francis. A very special thank you to our Religious Education Coordinator, Mr Mark McCoy for all his work in coordinating the celebration.
