Congratulations to our 9B debaters Maggie Carr, Anais Bouchier-Kotey and Ella Schrijvers for reaching the second round of the Eliminations of the 2017 CSDA Debating Competition. Our HSC Chemistry class spent time at University of Sydney’s School of Chemistry last week participating in the Kickstart Chemistry program. This initiative is designed to inspire students and to let them explore the exciting side of Chemistry. Our students were made to feel very welcome by wonderful staff who assisted them with the experiments allowing students to see a range of demonstrations using analytical equipment. St Clare’s College students and staff, with the support of their parents and carers, staged a College wide Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. The College raised over $3000. Well done everybody!
We are currently running a trial of the new SMART Board in our Science department. Over the next holidays the Science labs are being upgraded with the new whiteboards, projectors and sound systems. The existing SMART Boards need to be replaced and we are looking at the various options that are available. SMART have very generously allowed us to work on the latest version of the SMART Board and it certainly has come a long way from the original boards we are all familiar with.
