Day 2 of the UNSW Sunsprint Challenge is all about the racing. It coincides with UNSW’s Open Day and always attracts big crowds. Three events run on Day 2, the Mini-Sprint which has a Primary school focus, the Solar Boats and the Sunsprint. On Thursday 7 September, Year 12 and their religion teachers enjoyed a day of spiritual renewal at Bronte Surf Life Saving Club with presenter Chris Doyle, musician from Karis Ministry. The theme of the day was ‘Hope for the Future’ and through prayer, song, stories, games and reflection the girls were able to spend time thinking about their relationships with God and others and the importance of maintaining their spirituality and faith life once they leave school.
The events of Day 1 of the UNSW Sunsprint were all about testing, evaluating and racing. The only feedback the students get from the project is time on the track. What happens on the track tells the students how effective their designs are in relation to the regulations set down by the National organisation. Ideally we would like to have access to the track well in advance of the Challenge and it is something we have been pushing for over the past few years. Here are some video highlights from Day 1.
